Pedestrian Killed In Sunnyvale Intersection
SUNNYVALE (CBS SF) -- A woman was fatally struck by a car in Sunnyvale on Thursday evening, authorities said Friday.
The pedestrian, identified by the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office as Mountain View resident Erica Stiles, 47, was struck about 5:10 p.m. near the intersection of El Camino Real and Mathilda Avenue.
Emergency personnel found Stiles suffering from major head trauma and took her to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries, according to the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
The crash remained under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed it was requested to call Investigator R. Ramirez at (408) 730-7109.
