Oakland Police Arrest Suspect In Murder Of Neighborhood Ice Cream Man
OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Police have arrested a man suspected in the murder of Oakland ice cream vendor Jasvir Singh.
Police believe Joevan Lopez is responsible for the October 3 shooting that happened in the 9300 block of Peach Street.
Singh, a crashed into a parked car after he was shot five times by a gunman who approached his ice cream truck. The 45-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
The shooting stunned neighbors who said Singh was a familiar face in the neighborhood.
The Alameda County District Attorney's Office is reviewing the case and formal charges are expected later this week.
