Man Shot Dead In Possible Oakland Robbery Attempt
OAKLAND (CBS SF) - A man was fatally shot in Oakland Wednesday night during what may have been a robbery, police said.
Police responded to the 1400 block of Sixth Avenue near International Boulevard around 8 p.m., Officer Kroushour said.
The victim, identified as 33-year-old Marco Mendoza Canil, died at a local hospital and no suspect was identified as of 6 a.m.
Canil's death is the 19th homicide so far this year in Oakland.
No further details of the investigation were immediately available.
