Man Shot Dead In Oakland While Helping Father During Fight
OAKLAND (CBS SF) - A man was shot and killed early Thursday morning in Oakland after trying to help his father during a confrontation, Oakland Police said.
Officers responded to a shooting in the 1900 block of 26th Avenue just after midnight Thursday morning, according to Oakland police Officer J. Moore.
The victim was identified as 36-year-old Tyron Braswell, a father of three. Braswell was found suffering from a gunshot wound and was pronounce dead at the scene, Moore said.
According to his mother, Braswell got a call from his father that he was in an argument on 26th avenue and needed help.
When he got there around 12:30 a.m., someone shot him, police said.
Officers have several witnesses but so far they have made no arrests.
CBS 5 cited an unconfirmed report that the victim's father may have known the shooter.
