Man Killed In Concord Robbery Attempt; 2 Arrested
CONCORD (CBS SF) - A man who was killed Sunday night in what police believe was an attempted robbery and carjacking in a park in Concord has been identified as 27-year-old Concord resident Ever Osorio, a Contra Costa County deputy coroner said.
Two suspects, an adult and a juvenile, have been arrested in connection with the attack, but police have not yet released their names.
Police received a call shortly after 10 p.m. reporting possible shots fired and a man lying on the ground in Hillcrest Park near Olivera Road and Grant Street.
Responding officers found Osorio with multiple injuries to his upper torso. He was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Concord where he died, police said.
Several witnesses who were with Osorio in the park told investigators that two males had tried to rob them and steal their car, and had attacked Osorio.
Two people believed to be the attackers were arrested several blocks from the park on suspicion of homicide, attempted robbery and attempted carjacking, police.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call major crimes unit Detective Mike Kindorf at (925) 603-5857. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call the Police Department's tip line at (925) 603-5836.
