Lamborghini Thief Max Wade May Be Linked To Unsolved Tiburon Killing
SAN QUENTIN (CBS SF) - A Marin County prosecutor says recently-sentenced thief of celebrity chef Guy Fieri's Lamborghini has been investigated as a person of interest in an unsolved 2009 killing.
Max Wade, 19, was transferred to his new cell at San Quentin State Prison Thursday after being convicted in October of the car theft and a Mill Valley shooting.
The Marin Independent Journal also reports that law enforcement has investigated Wade in connection with an unsolved killing of a 75-year-old Tiburon woman in 2009.
"Wade is one of many possible people we're looking at," Marin County District Attorney Ed Berberian told KPIX 5.
Joan Rosenthal was found shot in the head on Sept. 22, 2009. Her body was discovered in an enclosed patio outside the front door of her home at 647 Hilary Drive.
According to the Marin IJ, Wade performed dozens of Internet searches related to the killing and hundreds more on other crimes for which he was convicted.
Wade's defense attorney sent KPIX 5 a statement saying he wouldn't dignify questions related to the killing with a response. The case remains open pending new developments.
