Man Shot Behind Wheel In SF, Drives To Hospital
SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) -- San Francisco police are investigating the circumstances that led to a man driving himself to San Francisco General Hospital early Sunday morning for treatment of multiple gunshot wounds, according to a police sergeant.
The man, a San Francisco resident apparently in his 30s, arrived
at the hospital around 4 a.m. with two gunshot wounds to his upper body that were not life threatening, San Francisco police Sgt. Troy Dangerfield said.
Hospital personnel contacted the San Francisco Police Department after the man arrived to report the shooting victim, Dangerfield said.
The man told police he was driving his car in the area of Mason
and Eddy streets near Union Square around 3:45 a.m. when he felt himself get shot twice, Dangerfield said.
The victim said he did not hear anything or see any witnesses when he was shot, Dangerfield said. Since it is very early in the investigation, it is unclear if the shooting was intentional or if the man was an accidental victim, Dangerfield said.
The investigation into the case in ongoing, he said.
