Couple Identified In Fairfield Apartment Shooting

FAIRFIELD (AP) -- Fairfield police have identified the woman and her boyfriend allegedly shot and killed by her ex-boyfriend at an apartment complex.

Police say the victims are 45-year-old Maria Terrones and 31-year-old Jose Velarde-Lopez.

Authorities are still searching for 50-year-old Ricardo Martinez Deleon, who is suspected of killing the couple early Saturday.

The killings occurred after police on Friday were called about a disturbance at the complex. Witnesses said Deleon had been arguing with his ex-girlfriend in the parking lot, but Terrones' family convinced Deleon to leave.

Investigators believe that Deleon later returned and waited for the victims.

Authorities say Deleon—who is medium height and build with brown hair and eyes—may be armed and driving a late 1970s or early 1980s white van with a blue stripe.
