Best Neighborhoods To Trick-Or-Treat In San Francisco

Trick-Or-Treat. As darkness falls and masked goblins and superheroes fall into the time-honored tradition of going door-to-door scavenging for candy, has earmarked as the best places to Trick-or-Treat. Although in recent years walking through neighborhoods has declined, due to unsafe conditions and shopping mall based events, lets us know there is still hope.

According to a report by, San Francisco is ranked #1 in the country as the best city to go Trick-Or-Treating. San Jose is ranked #5. Based on Zillow's Home Value Index, population density, and local crime data. #5 - Lake Street

Nestled close to Presidio Heights and Sea Cliff area, the Lake Street Area boasts large Grand Edwardians, Victorians, and Queen Annes styled homes. The area is safe and very conservative. Lake Street is also close walking distance to Clement & Geary Street.

#4 - Cow Hollow

Generally an affluent area, Cow Hollow is located between Russian Hill and The Presidio, close to the Marina. Union Street runs along the center of the Cow Hollow area and is a perfect spot to bring the kids for a little shopping and some dining.

#3 - Noe Valley

Cradled near the Mission District and The Castro, Noe Valley is centered by the eclectic retail shops that adorn 24th Street, between Castro and Dolores Street. The upscale neighborhood is an ideal location to bring children after-dusk for trick-or-treat and after take-in dining at one of the many restaurants that compliment the area.

Known for it's large homes and ocean views, the Sea Cliff area is located in the northwestern tip of San Francisco. It is adjacent to the Pacific Ocean and Baker Beach.

Presidio Heights is a small, affluent neighborhood between the Presidio and Laurel Heights neighborhood. Bordered by Pacific Avenue and the Presidio to the north, Arguello Boulevard to the west, California Street to the south and Presidio Avenue to the east.
