This year marks the sixth annual Belvedere Tiburon Labor Day Parade. This year's parade will have live music, classic cars and decorated floats. Parade participants will wind their way along Tiburon Boulevard to Main Street. The parade ends at the Belvedere Community Park and will be followed by a concert at 4 p.m.

This Labor Day weekend, the National Park Service will be hosting the 33rd annual Point Reyes Seashore Sculpture Contest. The popular family-friendly event is free. For those interested in competing, registration begins at 9 a.m., with judging starting at noon. Pack a picnic lunch and stick around for awards at 3:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded in several categories such as groups, individuals and children. No dogs on the beach please.

A 62-year-old tradition, the Sausalito Art Festival is one of the oldest area festivals of its kind. This year there will be over 260 craftspeople displaying their handiwork, as well as an exciting selection of California wines, food and live music. Newly added for 2014 will be a beer garden. For those looking to be even more involved in the festival, there is a Friday night black tie gala where attendees can meet the artists and enjoy a sit-down dinner and dancing. Proceeds for the gala benefit the Artist's Teaching Art program.

Each year, the town of Bolinas celebrates Labor Day with a special barbeque and street party. The festival will include a variety of live music and entertainment, a special kid-centric area, homemade dessert and beer and wine for the adults. Make sure to check out the always entertaining White Elephant Silent Auction held in the Bolinas Community Center. Festival goers may park free of charge in Mesa Park, and will then be shuttled to the downtown festivities.

The Sonoma Wine Country Weekend is one of the best ways to get up close and personal with local growers and wine makers. The three-day charity event provides a rare opportunity for the public to enjoy winemaker lunches, dinners and a barbecue. To get the complete experience, check out Saturday's Taste of Sonoma at MacMurray Estate Vineyards. This event will include pourings from over 200 wineries, as well as tasty bites crafted by 60 local chefs. All proceeds from the event benefit Sonoma County charities, which have received upwards of $12 million from prior Wine Country Weekends.
