Allen Reportedly Returning For 3rd Season With Raiders

OAKLAND (CBS SF) - Despite back-to-back 4-12 seasons and speculation that he could be fired, Dennis Allen will return as the Raiders coach in 2014, reports Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports.

Team owner Mark Davis essentially confirmed that the 41-year-old would return for the third year of his four-year contract Tuesday night.

"We met this evening at the Raider facility, and the meeting went really well," Davis told ESPN.com in a phone interview. "We talked about a lot of things…We're ready to rock and roll."

Last week a handful of Raider assistants were let go, but Allen and General Manager Reggie McKenzie were due to meet were due to meet with Davis Wednesday to begin charting the course for next season.

The teams offseason priorities appear to be securing a franchise quarterback and adding more playmakers at offensive skill positions.
