3 Hurt In Castro Valley Shooting

CASTRO VALLEY (CBS SF) - Three people were injured in a shooting in Castro Valley early Sunday morning, an Alameda County sheriff's spokesman said Monday.

Deputies responded to the intersection of Rutledge Road and Castro Valley Boulevard around 1:30 a.m. after receiving a report of gunfire, sheriff's Sgt. J.D. Nelson said.

They found two males and one female suffering from gunshot wounds, Nelson said. Two of the victims had been shot in the leg and the other was wounded in the ankle, he said. All were expected to survive.

The Alameda County Sheriff's Office was trying to identify the shooter. He was described as a black male in his late teens or early 20s, standing about 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds, with shoulder-length dreadlocks and a gold grill in his teeth.
