2nd Suspect Arrested In Fatal Berkeley Shooting

BERKELEY (AP) - Authorities have arrested and charged a second man suspected of fatally shooting the son of a drug rehabilitation counselor in Berkeley.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported Monday that 20-year-old Coleon Lee Carroll was arrested in Antioch.

Alameda County prosecutors have charged Carroll with murder and attempted murder for killing 35-year-old Gary Ferguson Jr. and wounding another man last Tuesday.

Ferguson's father, Gary Sr., was once director of the Sobriety Through Education and Peer Support program.

Hours after the shooting, police arrested 21-year-old Brandon Wallace of Bay Point at a hospital.

Police have not released a motive for the attack.
