2 Men Injured In Richmond Drive-By Shooting

RICHMOND (CBS SF) -- Two men were wounded in a drive-by shooting in a south Richmond neighborhood Saturday morning, a police sergeant said.

Police responded to a report of the shooting in the 200 block of South Third Street at about 7:10 a.m. and found two victims with gunshot wounds, Sgt. Roger Buhlis said.

Both men were taken to nearby hospitals.

Officers are searching for one or more suspects who they believe were driving southbound on South Third Street when they fired nine rounds and struck the two men before speeding away, Buhlis said.

One of the victims was walking down the residential street when he was shot, while the other was waiting outside a home for a ride to work, the sergeant said.

Detectives are investigating the shooting and ask anyone with information about the incident to contact Sgt. Louis Tirona at (510) 620-6647.
