2 Killed, 1 Hurt In Separate Oakland Shootings

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Two people were killed and another seriously wounded in two separate shootings Friday night and early Saturday morning in Oakland, according to an Oakland police officer.

A deadly shooting was reported at 1:45 a.m. in North Oakland. Officers responded to the 1000 block of 60th Street on a report of gunshots heard, Oakland police Officer A. Frye said.

Arriving officers found a man and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds, Frye said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman was taken to the hospital in serious condition, according to Frye.

Earlier on the other side of the city in East Oakland, around 10:10 p.m. Friday night police received reports of a shooting in the 2500 block of Church Street.

Officers arrived to a man suffering from a gunshot wound, Frye said. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

He was later pronounced dead at the hospital, Frye said.

No suspect information was available for both shootings.

Frye said both cases are under investigation.
