16-Year-Old Expected To Survive Richmond Shooting

RICHMOND (BCN) - A 16-year-old boy who was found shot in Richmond on Monday was expected to survive but has not been cooperating with investigators, police said.

Police were called to Kaiser Permanente Richmond Medical Center after the boy showed up there around 11 p.m.

Hospital staff told police they were treating a semi-conscious male who was suffering from gunshot wounds to the back, police Lt. Shawn Pickett said.

Police initially said they believed the shooting happened near Ninth Street and MacDonald Avenue, but Lt. Bisa French said Tuesday morning that the victim's story has been changing and investigators have been unable to locate the crime scene.

Pickett said it was not immediately known if the incident was gang-related.
