The match up to watch on Sunday will be Carlos Rogers vs. Victor Cruz. As with San Francisco and New York both are very talented and have developed a bit of a rivalry since Rogers mocked Cruz's touchdown celebration. This will mark the 3rd time the two have faced each other with both winning a previous meeting. Whichever player gets the better of their opponent Sunday will give their team a great chance at winning the game.
Alex Smith is on the verge of becoming an elite quarterback. The San Francisco signal caller was nominated this week for the FedEx Air Player of the Week award, which is the 3rd time in the past year that he has been up for the award.
NaVorro Bowman was never viewed as a dominant player, but after waiting for his chance he has made a name for himself. The young linebacker has quickly become one of the best to play the position, and can one day be as good as the man he plays next to, Pro Bowler Patrick Willis. Either way, the two form a duo that is second to none and has led to the 49ers dominance against opposing teams' running backs.
This time it was the passing game that set up the run and led to a 45-3 win over the visiting Buffalo Bills. Alex Smith finished with over 300 yards passing while the defense played another impressive game. With momentum on their side, the 49ers will take on the New York Giants next week in the biggest game of the year for San Francisco.
