A person with knowledge of the trade tells The Associated Press that the Kansas City Chiefs have agreed to acquire quarterback Alex Smith from San Francisco.
Although they lost the Super Bowl to the Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco learned a great deal from the game. They will use this as a learning experience and come back next year a better team because of it. The team did not reach their final goal, but continue to get closer, and will try next year to end the Lombardi Trophy drought.
First it was Candlestick Park during a 49ers home game last season, and then lightning struck twice on the NFL's biggest stage, the Superdome during the Super Bowl on Sunday night.
