YUBA COUNTY (CBS13) - Yuba County officials are warning residents that a high-risk sex offender has been released into their community.

Authorities say 49-year-old James Barrie is a transient and has been staying in Linda area hotels.

Barrie was convicted on rape, burglary and prowling charges.  His previous victims were adult women.

Barrie is a 49 year-old white male with a shaved head and blue eyes.  He is approximately 6 feet tall and weighs about 190 lbs. 

He has several tattoos of note, including a tattoo on his back of the Norse god Oden with wolves; a tattoo on his chest of celtic knots; a skull with a sword on his left arm; and an image of Thor's hammer on his right arm.
