Woman Dies After Last Week's Shooting

CERES, Calif. (CBS13) -- Authorities said the woman wounded last week when her boyfriend allegedly shot her has died from her injuries.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department said 26-year-old Teresa Rangel succumbed to the wounds sustained on March 21 in her home on the 4000 block of Warner Road.

Deputies arrested 33-year-old Robert Vanderheiden, who was in a dating relationship with Rangel, for attempted murder and domestic violence immediately after the incident. The charges will be amended to murder due to the victim's death, according to the district attorney.

A motive for the alleged crime has not been released.
