Voters To Decide 3 Calif. State Senate Primaries Tuesday

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - Voters will cast ballots in three special state Senate primaries Tuesday.

In the east San Francisco Bay Area, Gov. Jerry Brown's longtime political adviser Steve Glazer faces two well-known fellow Democrats. Assemblywoman Susan Bonilla and former Assemblywoman Joan Buchanan have split the union endorsements, while Glazer has support from charter school backers in a fight over the party's direction.

In Orange County, Assemblyman Don Wagner and former County Supervisor John Moorlach are both fighting for Republican votes in another battle over party fealty. Moorlach is more libertarian and has criticized Wagner's work in Sacramento.

And in a district covering parts of San Bernardino and Los Angeles counties, Republican Sharon Runner is the only candidate on Tuesday's ballot.

The seats are vacant after officeholders were elected to Congress in November.
