Two Neighboring Vacaville Homes Catch Fire

VACAVILLE (CBS13) - A fire that broke out between two Vacaville homes ignited both houses in flames Monday night.

Engines from the Vacaville Fire Department responded at about 8:25 p.m. to the homes in the 200 block of Ironwood St.

Firefighters quickly got the fire from one of the homes under control, but the other one shot out big flames before firefighters were able to contain it.

A family of four was inside one of the homes as it burned and had to be alerted by neighbors to get out. They were not injured, but their family dog died in the fire.

Fire officials are investigating what prompted the area between the two homes to start burning.
