Three Cursed Madden NFL Cover Athletes

Here are three NFL players that became the cover athlete for Madden NFL and were cursed the following season:

1. Michael Vick

Following the announcement that Vick would be on the cover of Madden NFL 2004, he fractured his right fibula during a preseason game. The injury forced him to miss the first 11 games of the season.

2. Ray Lewis

Following his debut on the cover, Lewis had his first season ever not recording a single interception. Also, the Ravens failed to make the playoffs for the first time in several years.

3. Drew Brees

Brees threw a career-high 22 picks in the season after being announced the cover athlete. The Saints also lost in an upset to a 7-9 Seahawks team in the playoffs.
