The Don Geronimo Show - March 12, 2012
Today, Don begins with the Norm MacDonald / Rick Reilly twitter battle yesterday, then tells us Rachel Maddow is interested in interviewing Don regarding the Tom Couzens story. Little Joe then tells us about the event he attended with Sacramento King Jimmer Fredette on Saturday, and the girl he tried to hook Danny from promotions up with. Speaking of Danny, he and Ron stop by the studio, because they've got tickets to Friday's Kings game, and Don sends them out to Arden Fair Mall to give them away, even though Danny wants to go to Roseville, where only people who look like him are. Don then calls a guy from Kentucky named "Charlie," who has texted in 20 times this morning.
March Madness is fast approaching, and Little Joe has a song from the show prep site about all the teams in the men's NCAA Tournament. Don has the guys take turns trying to sing the lyrics, before playing a clip from radio station KFI in L.A. where the Tom Couzens story was discussed. Ron then calls in from the Arden Fair Mall with ticket winners, and Don talks to the lucky listeners. We also hear a series of clips, including a stewardess who goes ballistic on a plane, a dog taking a crap in a British dog show, and a reporter who walks into a pole.
We then get a studio visit from Sacramento native Lindsey Pavao, who is one of the contestants on "The Voice." Lindsey talks about her audition, being on "Team Christina," and what kind of music she's into. Don then gives her the "Hot Seat" quiz, and has Craig come in to sing a duet with her. It's then time for the "Phantom News Hour." Today, Phantom talks about Louis CK backing out of the Congressional Correspondents dinner because of Greta Van Susteren's complaints, 100 years of the Girl Scouts, Harold Camping says he's done predicting the end of the world, and the past weekend's box office numbers. And of course, Don wraps everything up with a caller 100!
