The Don Geronimo Show - March 1, 2012
Don begins the day with a new show opener song from the Little Joe's show prep site: a parody of the "Big Bang Theory" theme. Don also talks about the passing of Davy Jones- his favorite Monkee, and the media coverage of it. Don then tells us that Craig and Billy from promotions will be going out to find a homeless person to bring in the studio for Don to interview.
Don calls in Craig to coach him on how to approach the homeless people, then sends Craig and Billy on their way. After Don, Dave, and Phantom make their own movie trailers for each guy on the show, Craig and Billy bring back a homeless man named "Henry." Don brings him into the studio, and asks him about his past, and how it led to him becoming homeless. Henry also tells us how hard it is for him to survive, and how he would take any job offered to him. A caller who works at a group home even calls up to offer his services to Henry.
The guys then pick up where they left off yesterday, with the game "Steakhouse or Gay Bar." Don even tries calling a few in Detroit. We then hear a little Phantom vs. John Wayne soundboard, before learning that Beyonce has been breastfeeding in public, Snooki claims she is not pregnant, and Louis Farrakhan hates McDonalds. In light of the passing of Davy Jones, the guys talk about which musical icon would bum them out the most if they died. The guys then discuss which "Beatle" each member of the show would be.
Don also tells us that the Sacramento News & Review has a story about the Tom Couzens issue from last week, but Don won't read it until tomorrow, when Frank Caliendo joins us in the studio. It's then time for the "Phantom News Hour." Today, Phantom talks about our good friend James Brown becoming the new correspondent for CBS News, celebrity tweets about the passing of Davy Jones, The biggest American Idol singers of all time, and two 71 year old golfers charged with assault for beating a 15 year old kid with a metal ball retriever. And of course, Don wraps everything up with a caller 100!
