Teen Helps Residents Escape From Burning Home In Sacramento

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - A 14-year-old high school student from Sacramento is credited with saving several lives after a home caught fire.

Fire investigators say Christian Beecher noticed a house on fire near 21st Avenue and 36th Street. Beecher knocked on the door of the home that caught fire and alerted the five people inside.

He then hopped a fence and warned the elderly lady living next door.

"I decided to go across the street and get everyone outside of the house because she didn't know. She was in the house watching TV, and the kids started rushing out saying the kitchen was on fire, so I had to get everybody out," said Beecher.

The fire was caused by charged power lines that fell on a fence, according to Sacramento Fire Department investigators.
