Investigation into suspicious package near Stockton prompts evacuations
STOCKTON – Deputies in San Joaquin County said they investigated a suspicious package that was found near Stockton and prompted evacuations Friday afternoon.
Deputies said the device was found at Ryde Avenue just south of Del Rio Drive. The road was closed and nearby homes were evacuated.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal team responded to the scene but it was determined that the device did not pose a threat.
