Crews battling Smith Fire in Yuba County
Cal Fire crews in Yuba County were battling the Smith Fire on Sunday, which temporarily prompted evacuation orders.
Just before 1 p.m., Cal Fire said they were responding to a fire that had burned about 5 acres, with a moderate rate of spread, near Smith Road in Loma Rica.
By 1:30 p.m., the fire had burned about 18 acres, and containment was at 0%.
Around 1:15 p.m., the Yuba County Office of Emergency Services issued evacuation orders and warnings for part of the area; the evacuations were lifted at 1:53 p.m.
