Stockton Police Release Suspect Sketch In Cinco De Mayo Sex Assault

STOCKTON (CBS13) – Stockton Police have released a digital composite sketch hoping it will help in identifying a sexual assault suspect.

Police say the assault happened just after midnight on May 5 in a parking lot in the 2200 block of Grand Canal Boulevard. The suspect was seen leaving in a burgundy or red car with chrome rims and tinted windows.

"After she got home she called the police immediately," Officer Joe Silva said.

Police waited until now to release information because the victim recently met with an artist to create the digital sketch of her attacker.

"This type of sketch, a computerized sketch, is real descriptive and looks like a real person," Silva said.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, 25-30 years old, 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds. He has a dark hair in a crew cut with a fade. He has a full mustache and a small scar on the outer edge of his left eyebrow. He also has full sleeve type tattoos on both forearms and a large tattoo of cursive writing on the back of his neck.

Word of the sexaul assualt sent shockwaves through the usually violent crime free stretch of Grand Canal Boulevard.

The attack happened a few doors down from Java Armoa Internet Café.

"it's really shocking to hear about this," said Michelle Pak.

Pak says security measures are in place to keep her safe when she closes up shop after 10 at night.

"There's always someone here if something were to happen and there's an emergency button we can press," she said.

Police hope the sketch will help crack the case.

"If you recognize the photograph, please call the Stockton Police Department," Silva said.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call the Stockton Police Department Investigations Unit at (209) 937- 8323.
