Shooting at Stockton flea market leaves 2 dead, 1 wounded
Stockton police said two men were killed and a woman was injured after a shooting at a flea market on Sunday.
Around noon, police went to the 2500 block of South El Dorado Street for a report of a shooting.
Officers arrived and found two men dead at the scene and a woman with what police said was a non-life-threatening injury.
Police are investigating what led up to the shooting and if the two men were armed. Their identification has not been released at this time.
The property manager of the flea market said it started with a robbery at a jewelry shop, one of the 50 businesses inside.
Stockton Vice Mayor Jason Lee said in a statement that "early indications suggest the business owners involved acted in self-defense."
"My thoughts are with everyone impacted by this incident, including the families, employees, patrons, and members of our community who were present," Lee said.
Police could not confirm what led up to the shooting or give any suspect description. No one is in custody at this time.
Business at the flea market continued as the investigation was in full force.
