Search To Resume For Missing Morgan Hill Teen
MORGAN HILL, Calif. (AP) — Volunteers are gathering to spend another day searching for any sign of a missing teen a day after authorities said the Northern California girl was likely abducted.
Sierra LaMar hasn't been seen since March 16 after she failed to catch her regular school bus in Morgan Hill.
Hundreds of volunteers are expected again Wednesday to comb a 20-mile area around her home in a search effort that also includes the FBI.
The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday that investigators believe it's highly unlikely LaMar ran away and they're focused on the possibility that she was kidnapped.
Sheriff's officials say they made that determination after interviewing many of her friends and family.
Searchers in recent days have found the girl's cell phone and purse with clothes folded neatly inside.
