Arrest made in Sacramento shooting on Ringgold Street
SACRAMENTO – Detectives have made an arrest in last month's Upper Land Park area shooting in Sacramento that left a man dead.
The shooting happened a little before 5 p.m. on Jan. 23 near Ringgold and Marsh streets.
Sacramento police said officers responded to investigate reports of a shooting and found a man with a gunshot wound. That man was rushed to the hospital, but police said he later died.
On Friday, detectives announced that they had arrested 33-year-old Dandre Ortega in connection to the case.
"This arrest underscores the determination that our investigators exhibit every day in our commitment to keeping our community safe and holding those who harm others accountable," police said in a statement.
Ortega has been booked into Sacramento County Jail. He's facing charges related to manslaughter and firearm possession.
The name of the man killed has not been released by authorities.
