UPDATE: Teen Suspect In Custody After South Sac Standoff
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - The suspect in a south Sacramento standoff with police and sheriff's deputies was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon after barricading himself inside a residence for about two hours.
Police and sheriff's deputies surrounded a home in the 6800 block of Burdett Way, where the 17-year-old suspect fled to after being pursued by police. A 91-year-old woman was inside but at some point she was able to get outside safely.
The teen, who was wanted on a warrant, hid in the garage of what he mistakenly thought was his aunt's house.
Several patrol units responded to the location, which is near 47th Avenue and Stockton Boulevard in county jurisdiction.
Sacramento police were looking for the teen when he ran from them Wednesday afternoon. There were reports that the suspect was armed with a gun and that he may have tossed it.
