Sacramento Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor Jobs Just A Song And Resume Away
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor is bringing more than 200 jobs to Sacramento. But if you want one, you have to be ready to sing.
The ice cream parlor once famously known for an airplane crash that killed 22 people in 1972 is now back, and this time it is encouraging Sheri Shaw to put away the broom and sweep into a new career.
"I'm kind of tired of housekeeping and it's a bit more physical because I'm getting older," Shaw said. "I need something that will be a little bit more fun."
Organizers say they've been looking to come back for the past three years. And after day one, the interviews appear to be going very well.
"In terms of openings we have had so far, this is definitely the most eager group of individuals, as people have been lining up an hour early," said director of training Dominic Leforte.
That is good, because good part-time jobs are hard to come by. Even as California saw fewer jobless claims last week, these long lines prove competition remains fierce.
The first round of interviews will continue on Friday, but it will be helpful to arrive early as the lines tend to be longer on the second day.
Farrell's will also be holding first round of interviews tomorrow as well- but it will be helpful to arrive early as the lines tend to be a bit longer on day two.
