Sacramento County crash on Florin Road leaves 1 dead
A person has died after being struck by a vehicle along Florin Road early Friday morning.
The incident happened just after 6 a.m. near Fletcher Farms Drive.
California Highway Patrol says a driver reported that he was headed westbound along Florin Road when he suddenly saw a person lying in the road. The driver tried to brake, but the person was struck.
Officials declared the person who was struck dead at the scene. The person's identity has not been released.
Officers noted that the driver is cooperating with the investigation. Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the collision, CHP says.
