Possible explosion at Sacramento apartment complex leaves 2 hurt, firefighters say
An apparent explosion in a Sacramento neighborhood left two people with minor injuries, the Sacramento Fire Department said Tuesday.
Calls came in around 2 p.m. about a possible explosion at an apartment complex on Carlson Drive, near Moddison Avenue, but when crews arrived, Sacramento Fire said there were no flames or smoke at the scene.
However, they did spot a window that was blown out and found glass in the parking lot, some distance away from the window.
The fire department said a person who was outside when the blast happened suffered minor burns to their hands and face. One other person had "very minor injuries" and refused to go to the hospital.
An apartment next door had some items knocked off its shelves, but no other units were damaged, Sacramento Fire said.
Some residents heard a loud blast, but crews remain unsure about what caused the blast. The fire department said the circumstances are unusual, but there are no concerns about a natural gas leak.
