Rohnert Park Investigates Officer After He Pulls Gun On Unarmed Man

ROHNERT PARK, Calif. (AP) -- A Northern California police officer who was caught on video drawing his gun on a man who was not accused of a crime has been placed on temporary paid administrative leave.

KNTV reports Friday that Rohnert Park Assistant City Manager Don Schwartz said in a statement that the incident on the video was not a "typical interaction" between police and the public.

The video shows the unnamed officer sitting in front of a man's home in his cruiser.

Out of the cruiser, the officer, gun drawn, told the man to take his hand from his pocket.

The man told the officer to put down the gun. The man complied and emptied his pockets. No arrests were made. The officer was responding to a complaint about parking.

The city also is conducting an internal probe into the incident.
