Rocklin Family's Home Catches Fire For Second Time In Two Years

ROCKLIN (CBS13) – A Rocklin family is displaced after fire tore through their home for the second time in two years.

The fire started in the garage of a home in the 3400 block of Midas Avenue early Wednesday morning.

The home has heavy smoke damage and the home owner was treated for a minor burn.

The fire is the latest in a series of unfortunate events for the family.

The home caught fire nearly two years ago while the couple who own it was on vacation in Ireland.

Then yesterday, the man who owned the house died. And today, another fire damaged the home.

"I have to be there…for my mom and my grandmother," said the homeowner's granddaughter Eirrena Carnes. "And it's horrible early in the morning, once again, to get a phone call telling me to come down here that my grandparent's house is on fire."

Investigators say it does not appear the two fires are related.
