Fire Fighter Hurt Battling Fair Oaks House Fire
FAIR OAKS – A Sacramento Metro fire fighter is recovering after falling through the roof of a burning home in Fair Oaks this morning..
The 2-alarm fire broke out at in the garage of a home on the 6700 block of Ellsworth Circle.
When fire fighters arrived, two entered the home to search for anyone still inside and two went to the roof to make holes for ventilation including 45-year-old Jeffery Wells. That's when the roof gave way and Wells fell into the burning garage. The Captain on scene called a "Mayday" and the on-scene Rapid Intervention Crew went in and pulled the injured Wells out.
Wells was taken to UC Davis Medical Center where he is listed in fair condition.
