UPDATE: Rolling Gun Battle Ends In Crash On Interstate 5 In Stockton

4 p.m. UPDATE: Police say people inside both cars were engaged in a rolling gun battle, shooting back and forth at each other.

A man who was shot is in surgery from his gunshot wound, while a woman being treated for traffic injuries will be interviewed. Another man was taken into custody.

STOCKTON (CBS13) - A shooting that led to two cars crashing has blocked traffic on Interstate 5 in Stockton as officers investigate the scene.

The incident originated along the 8000 block of Montgomery Avenue. Stockton Police say, just after 1 p.m. Thursday, they got 911 calls of a shooting in the area.

Two vehicles eventually ended up on southbound I-5. One car crashed near Benjamin Holt Drive, while the other car crashed just down the road.

Police have found one shooting victim. Another person has been transported for crash injuries.

One person has been detained, police say.

According to Caltrans, the #3 right lane on southbound I-5 at Benjamin Holt Drive is blocked due to the crash. The southbound Benjamin Holt off-ramp is closed for the time being.
