Possible Funnel Cloud Spotted Near Mather Field
SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) -- A possible funnel cloud has been spotted by CBS13 viewers near Mather Field in Rancho Cordova.
The National Weather Service has currently issued a severe thunderstorm warning for North Central Sacramento County, including the cities of Rancho Cordova, Folsom, Fair Oaks and Carmichael.
According to officials, the warning will be in effect until 3:30 p.m.
At Mather Airport a 50-foot redwood tree and 5-6 lighting fixtures in a parking lot were damaged, according to Gina Swankie, an airport spokesperson.
