Police Arrest Teen Accused Of Hitting 5-Year-Old Fairfield Child With Vehicle And Driving Away
FAIRFIELD (CBS13) - Police have arrested a teen accused of hitting a 5-year-old Fairfield child with his vehicle and leaving the scene.
Just before 9 a.m. Tuesday, police arrested 19-year-old Jefferson Tara, of Fairfield, on charges of hit-and-run. Tara's arrest came after officers reviewed surveillance footage of the 400 block of San Marco Street, where the incident happened Monday afternoon.
Officers searched the area and found a vehicle matching the one in the video parked in the 700 block of Delaware Street. Officers made contact with Tara and arrested him soon after.
The child remains in the hospital.
