Paddle Boarder Missing in Lake Tahoe
RENO, Nev. (AP) — Firefighters and rescue personnel are resuming the search for a paddle boarder who went missing in Lake Tahoe.
North Tahoe Fire Protection District officials say crews were called shortly before 3:30 p.m. Friday to Obexer's Marina West Shore, about 700 yards off shore.
North Tahoe Fire spokesman Ron Carson says other paddle boarders had turned back toward shore because of high winds and noticed one person was missing.
The paddle boarder's name has not been released but he is described as a 21-year-old man.
Several agencies including the U.S. Coast Guard are assisting in the search.
Helicopters from CalStar and the Navy are conducting air searches.
Yesterday's search had to be called off at 6 p.m.
