Man Stabbed To Death Identified As Retired Stockton Police Officer
STOCKTON (CBS13) — A retired Stockton Police officer was stabbed to death on Tuesday morning.
Stockton Police said Laurits "Pepe" Peterson was stabbed to death during a struggle on Tuesday morning in the area of Tam O Shanter and Fallbrook drives. When a male witness tried to break up the struggle, the suspect reportedly pulled out a gun and shot the witness, said Stockton Police Department spokesman Joe Silva.
The man who was shot is expected to recover from his injuries.
Police have identified Rafael Watts, 29, as the suspect in the stabbing.
Peterson worked with the Stockton Police Department for 30 years.
