Donor Replaces Yuba City Man's Stolen Power Chair

YUBA CITY (CBS13) - A man in Sutter County whose power chair was stolen now has a new one.

Last week, thieves swiped Ross Erickson's power chair from his home in Yuba City. Erickson suffered a stroke five years ago and needed the chair to get around.

After CBS13 aired the story, several calls came in from people wanting to help replace the chair.

"I'm actually now happy my power chair got stolen. I'm very grateful," said Erickson. "I'm just feeling really blessed right now."

The woman who donated the chair is an in-home caregiver, and will now take on Erickson as a client. Another person donated $100 to help install a new ramp for his home. Friends are helping him acquire batteries for the new chair.
