UPDATE: Man Identified In Sacramento Killing

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Detectives are searching for leads in the shooting death of a man in a Sacramento neighborhood early Friday morning.

The Sacramento Police Department said residents on the 700 block of Bell Avenue reported hearing a gunshot and finding a 46-year-old white male unresponsive just before 4 a.m. Friday.

The victim, a Sacramento resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified by the coroner's office on Monday as James Hiter.

Police said they are still investigating the motive for the shooting.
