Magnitude-3.4 Quake Rumbles Near Sonoma
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — No damage has been reported after an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.4 rattled a rural area of Northern California.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake hit at 9:21 p.m. Thursday about 26 miles north of Santa Rosa, or about 75 miles north of San Francisco.
A Santa Rosa police dispatcher says police had no calls about the quake.
The area where the earthquake hit is near the Geysers geothermal development, a complex of 22 geothermal power plants in the Mayacamas Mountains.
