Kings Try to Find Rhythm

At the halfway point of the preseason, Kings head coach Paul Westphal has many unanswered questions about his team.
He has yet to see centers Samuel Dalembert (left abductor strain) and Hassan Whiteside (left patellar tendon strain) on the floor, starting guard Beno Udrih is battling a right shoulder sprain and his team has struggled offensively the last two games.
"We're not cohesive yet by any means," Westphal said after Monday's practice.
"We have a lot of guys banged up. We're a long way from putting our best product out there."
Westphal said it's hard to look good with all the injuries the team is battling.
"We're not getting enough ball movement, we're not setting good screens, we're not cutting, we're not looking to the weakside, we're dribbling too much, and we don't know the plays," said Westphal, "other than that we're a finely tuned machine."

The race for the small forward position has been the major talk of Kings training camp.
Four players are competing for one starting slot, but Westphal is not ready to make any declarations.
"I'll let you be the judge," said Westphal.
Third year forward Donté Greene, second year forward Omri Casspi, free-agent Marcus Landry and veteran Antoine Wright are competing to get the starting job.
"We're looking for a lot of things out of that position," Westphal said, "I think Omri (Casspi) is trying very hard to fit the job description."
Casspi has played the most minutes of the small forward candidates during the preseason at 24 minutes per game. He averaged 7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists in those three games.
Landry started the first two games of the preseason but did not play in Sunday's loss to Golden State.
Wright started against the Warriors where he scored six points on 2-7 shooting from the field.
Injury note:
Dalembert participated in some light shooting drills with assistant coach Pete Carril on Monday, but Westphal said there is no timetable for his return.
"He's not ready and we're not expecting him to be ready tomorrow or the next day either," Westphal said.
