Kings' Sabonis breaks record for most consecutive double-doubles since NBA-ABA merger in win over 76ers

Sacramento's Domantas Sabonis recorded his 54th consecutive game with at least a double-double in the Kings' 108-96 win Monday night against the visiting Philadelphia 76ers, passing Kevin Love for the most since the NBA-ABA merger in 1976-77.
Sabonis, an All-Star snub this season, posted his league-leading 25th triple-double in Monday's win with a stat line of 11 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists.
The last time Sabonis failed to record at least a double-double in a game was November 29 against the Los Angeles Clippers.
De'Aaron Fox scored 23 points while adding 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals, extending his league-leading streak of 17 consecutive games with a steal.
Keegan Murray added 23 points and 4 assists.
Kevin Huerter, who has been out with injury, was confirmed Monday to be out for the rest of the season. Keon Ellis again started in his place and added 5 points and 2 rebounds.
Tyrese Maxey led the way for Philadelphia with 29 points. The only other starter for the Sixers to score in double digits was Tobias Harris with 12 points.
The win improved Sacramento's record to 42-29, which allowed them to overtake the Dallas Mavericks, who have the same record, due to a tie-breaker for the 6 seed in the Western Conference. Sacramento's next two games are against Dallas, on Tuesday and Friday.
With 11 games left in the season, those two games against Dallas are extremely crucial for either team to secure a guaranteed playoff spot. Sacramento also has a chance to post its first 50-win season since 2006.
