Investigators: Faulty Wiring In Home Ignited 2015 Valley Fire

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Cal Fire says the destructive 2015 Valley Fire in Lake County was caused by a faulty residential electrical connection.

Investigators say evidence was uncovered that showed a residential electrical connection arced and ignited some dry grass nearby, according to Cal Fire.

The Valley Fire went on to scorch 76,067 acres. Four people died in the fire and four firefighters were seriously hurt.

With nearly 2,000 structures destroyed in the fire, Cal Fire says the Valley Fire was the third most destructive wildfire in California's recorded history.
